So you have progressed through the beginning stages of gameplay and are now ready to make honor pushes and compete in Alliance Wars. While both objectives go hand and hand; raiding strategies can differ like night and day for two reasons. First, Alliance Wars involve a team collaboration with a set time period to compete. This naturally forces players to engineer more blitzkrieg strategies that are meant to take down bases as fast as possible. While your honor will still go up in the process, you will be more heavily focused on how quickly you can accumulate war points rather than the honor. Those who wish to strictly push honor typically do so during Alliance wars; however, there are many who strive to climb the ranks even during lapsed war periods. With this end of the spectrum, time is no longer an issue and your strategy will be altered accordingly. In the following guide, I will discuss the main strategies used for both objectives so you may learn and create your own individual method.

Speed, Speed, Speed

Alliances Wars are all about speed. When a Shogun or General declares war, the alliance is paired with 3 other alliances in a 12 hour sprint. Whether you are in a farming, semi-competitive or hardcore alliance, the concept remains the same. It all comes down to which alliance can amass the most amount of war points in the given 12 hour span. Due to the limited time available, players often tweak their strategies to go for faster kills, oftentimes sacrificing more resources as a result. Before you start churning away at those war points, familiarize yourself with what your alliance expects and vice versa. Many top and even middle alliances often have minimum war point requirements that each member must contribute during each war. I assume that you have done your due diligence and are in an alliance that’s suited to your scheduled so I will go straight into an example of a troop composition for speed raiding.

Variations of this strategy are frequently used in Samurai Siege and are quite effective for speed raiding. The troop composition consists of a mixture of:

Dragons
Archers
Healers
Essence Masters
Rams
Spell Scrolls; 5 Freeze

In the following video, you will see just how quickly bases can be raided using 6 Dragons, 55 Archers and 2 Essence Masters. The reason I included Healers and Rams into the aforementioned roster is because some players will throw in a few of each just for insurance. The added Rams ensures outer walls can be taken down and the Healers will allow ground troops to sustain more damage and thus, last longer in battle. Each player has their own personal preference so try different combinations to see what works best for you.

The downside to using a speed attack method is the cost of resources. Although resources are often plentiful, you will be entirely focused on war points and not skip high war point bases even if it leads to a negative net return for the battle. This method is expensive but serves its purpose. Again, players will often tweak existing strategies to how they see fit and I encourage that craftsmanship to all players as it allows you to learn and grow through personal trial and error.

So You Want to be #1?

Although competing in Alliance War is the main focus in Samurai Siege, players can opt-out of hardcore competitions and simply decide they want to be seen on the global single player leaderboards. This is perfectly fine and you will see a completely different method of raiding. Although both Speed Raiders and Honor Pushers share the same available player pool while searching for an attack, a player who is solely focused on gaining honor will be able to efficiently plan each attack with deadly precision. The result is a much cheaper army composition which allows plenty of resource gains per attack.

Again, variations of this strategy are frequently used in Samurai Siege and there’s no absolute correct method. The troop composition I prefer consists of a mixture of:

Samurai
Ninjas
Archers
Commanders
Rams
Oni Trolls
Healers
Rams
Spell Scrolls (if needed): 5 Freeze

You will see how much slower the raid is compared to the Speed Raiding strategy. The advantage, however, is you have the opportunity to scan through various bases and skip to one that at minimum allows you to break even in resources. You will still be gaining honor in the process, but can now be more selective in the bases you choose to raid. This cheap and effective method allows you to gain honor while fund the resources need for your next raid. Repeat this cycle and you will amass enough resources for many additional upgrades. I typically use roughly 8 Rams, 1-2 Commanders, 2-4 Oni Trolls, 20-25 Samurai, 15-20 Ninjas, 1 Healer and the rest Archers.

As you can clearly see, raids are much slower using this strategy, but the resources are incredible. So with that, I leave it up to you to decide on which end of the spectrum your gameplay falls into. Maybe you are a better suited for a speed war machine? Or maybe you are more adept in picking apart bases to efficiently harvest as many resources as possible? The wonderful part is you don’t have to choose between one or the other as most players use variations of both types of strategies depending on the situation.
